Excited about a chest X-Ray!?

I took Keegan to the doctor on Tuesday of this week because he was coughing and wheezing Monday evening. The doctor listened to his breathing and then said, "I'd like to do a chest X-Ray to make sure he doesn't have a bacterial infection." Keegan immediately lit up & looked at me. "Do I get to have a chest X-Ray like Franklin?" Franklin is one of Keegan's favorite book characters. We have been reading a book that we checked out from the public library entitled, Franklin Goes to the Hospital. In the story, Franklin, a turtle, is playing soccer when suddenly he gets hit hard in the chest by the soccer ball. His mommy takes him to see Dr. Bear, and she tells him that she will need to take a chest X-Ray of his shell. Now you know why Keegan was so excited! He lifted up his shirt quickly when the doctor said he needed an X-Ray and she graciously explained to him that he wasn't going to get an X-Ray right then and there, but that we'd have to go to a different doctor's office for the chest X-Ray. He did a marvelous job, just like Franklin in the story, because he knew just what to expect. (Not to mention he should be used to X-Rays by now since he's just coming off of a broken leg.) Keegan just had a virus and was prescribed breathing treatments for several days. What a wonderful imagination my son has!
