I have numerous found memories of my grandfather in my early childhood years as well. My sister and I would spend the night at my grandparents often and play, play, play at their house. We enjoyed swimming together and eating watermelon & creating mudpies in the backyard during the hot summer months.
One of my fondest memories is when Coach & Jane took Sarah & me to an RV park that was full of retired snowbirds. I remembering laying in the dark in the RV one night and laughing so hard as my grandfather sang, "K,K,K, Katie. Beautiful Katie. You're the only w,w,w, one that I adore. When the m, m, m, moon shines, over the c, c, c, cowshed. I'll be waiting at the k, k, k, kitchen door". (This was hilarious at the moment).
My grandfather had numerous nicknames for me. I'd answer to James, JEM, Jimbo; whatever he wanted to call me was fine. He was the only one that had a nickname for me, so it made me feel special.
